Wedding III

I was able to finish this project! Here are the juicy details!

When I finished stitching the Border, I then had to cut out the center and hem around the inside of the Oval. It was a bit difficult only because I had to make very tiny stitches, but it came out quite nicely. Here I have cut out the center, leaving enough to Hem it, and started the process of hemming the oval.

Putting the border on the verse was a little tricky but thanks to the sticky side of Cross Stitch board, I was able to make the border a separate heavier piece with the middle cut out for the verse.

I first had thought about attaching the two together (verse piece and border piece) to form one cloth piece, and use Ribbon or Lace to cover the attaching stitches but Since it was an oval that would have taking some time. Neither Ribbon nor Lace will lay flat willingly and curve. Once I had it centered and the way I liked it, I then had to cut the Outer edges to fit the wooden frame which I had bought. The frame was an 11X16 sized frame.

Once I had the border on the Stitching board, I was then able to place it on top of the verse fabric which I already stitched.  I Centered it and then used Tape to hold it in place there. I trimmed the extra fabric from the verse piece and then tested it in the Frame. After some more last-minute trimming I was able to get it to fit and be centered in the frame.

And here is the final product:
